    Description

    Admiral Gardner Shipwreck Coin minted by the East India Company in 1808.
    Recovered from the Admiral Gardner East Indiaman ship; built 1796; launched 1797; shipwrecked and sunk in the English Channel 24
    th
    of January, 1809.
    The ship was found in 1984; the coins were salvaged 1985 and released in 1994.
    The coin is sealed in a clear plastic case and includes the Certificate of Authenticity #1479 and The American Historic Society envelope that it came in.  The case has some very light wear and has a couple of tiny cardboard fibers loose inside.
    Case Dimensions: 5 3/8” x 3 3/8” x 5/16” thick.  Weight of case with coin: approximately 2 oz.
